As part of a broader vision for the future of Parkes Regional Airport, our studio partnered with Rehbein Airport Consulting to produce early-stage concept designs for a multi-phase redevelopment. These preliminary plans informed Rehbein’s Airport Master Plan and were instrumental in Parkes Shire Council’s successful funding submission to the Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF).
Building on this foundation, we were subsequently commissioned by the Council to deliver the first stage of the terminal upgrade. The result is a refreshed and distinctive arrival point for the region—one that blends the existing architecture with a contemporary design approach. Stage 1 works focused on expanding key areas such as the Departures Lounge, Check-in zone, and Baggage Collection, alongside refurbishing the terminal’s amenities. Importantly, the upgraded design anticipates future growth, with provisions in place to accommodate security screening and further expansion as passenger volumes increase.
