Airport Retail Enterprises engaged Noxon Giffen to design a second Viaggio outlet post-Customs at the Sydney International Terminal.

The new outlet transforms an under-utilised gate lounge area to provide an inviting cafe and bar with seating areas, children’s play area and support utility spaces.

The design maintains the fluid language of the earlier kiosk but incorporates natural materials, providing an engaging counterpoint to the, hard and neutral public concourse areas. The timber surfaces and black acoustic ceiling create a calm retreat in the noisy airport environment whilst a floating orange ‘cloud’ provides a sense of drama and identity for the space.
