Westernport House
2010
Shoreham, Victoria
Bunurong Country
Overlooking Westernport Bay, the four-bedroom house is both a private sanctuary and a welcoming space for the gathering of larger family groups. The outer form subtly references the unadorned rural buildings of the region with a composed, screened façade that presents to the street. Internally, a sequence of living spaces, decks, and terraces unfold to the northern aspect, ensuring that the planning of the house offers opportunities for diverse engagement both internally and externally. Balancing ideas of retreat and connection, the resulting house nestles into its unique coastal context.
